Thomas Murphy & Sons Funeral Directors are a family-run business based in Bray, Co. Wicklow. Our company was founded in 1950 by Thomas Murphy who started his career as a coffin maker, and whose passion and understanding nature made him progress towards becoming a funeral director.
A Bray native, Thomas soon established himself as a compassionate funeral director with strong attention to detail. He quickly became well-known in Bray and the surrounding areas, and was noted for his love of sport, having played football for Shamrock Rovers.
Thomas Murphy & Sons is a fully fledged family run company, and is now being run by second generation funeral directors. The funeral home is managed and operated by Thomas’s daughter Patricia and his five sons David, Martin, Thomas, Brendan and John. John inherited his father’s love of sport, having previously played rugby for Ireland. He was also an avid footballer and had trials with Arsenal as a young boy of 16.
