House Calls

You can contact us at any time through our 24 hour line. Rest assured there will always be a member of our family available to talk to you no matter what time it is.
While you are always welcome to visit our funeral home on Boghall Road, Bray to discuss your needs, we understand that an outing may be the last thing on your mind during this trying time. If this is the case, we can call to your residence. We can cover every aspect of your loved ones funeral in full detail and readily explain every step included. Any questions or queries you have will be answered in an understanding and competent manner. Once the arrangements have been made, we will continually keep you updated and carry out any requests you have to your satisfaction.

Embalming

Embalming is the art of making the deceased presentable and sanitary for viewing at repose. At Thomas Murphy & Sons Funeral Directors, we carry out this service to the highest standard with the utmost care and professionalism. Following embalming, we will dress the deceased and apply cosmetics to correspond with your wishes.

Personal Supervision

Ours is a truly personal service. When you contact us to arrange a funeral following the death of a loved one, the staff member you speak to on the phone will be the staff member you will be dealing with for the remainder of the funeral proceedings. Our Personal Supervision service takes away your worry of having to deal with numerous different people when planning a funeral.

Cremation

If you do not wish to choose a traditional burial for your loved one, cremation may be an option. We will carry out all the necessary arrangements and paperwork, while keeping you informed during the whole process.

Floral Arrangements

We can help you choose the appropriate floral arrangements to pay tribute to your loved one. We have a wide range to choose from and can also accommodate if donations to charity are requested in lieu of flowers.

Headstone Services

We can help you choose a headstone fitting for the memory of your loved one. Our service includes the erection of new headstones and the renovation of existing headstones.

Coffin Selection

We offer a range of caskets and coffins, including wicker coffins, solid caskets and veneer coffins. We can advise you on everything from budget to colours and materials.

Pre-planned Funerals

Oftentimes, people may worry about the emotional stress that planning a funeral may cause their loved ones once they pass away. They also consider the financial burden they may be leaving their family. At Thomas Murphy and Sons, we can help you ease this worry with our pre-planned funeral service. If you wish to, you may plan and pay for your funeral in advance. There are many circumstances which may cause you to want to do this. Call us to discuss your options in further detail.

Repatriation Service

Our repatriation service ensures that the deceased returns to the country of origin for burial if this was their desire. We fully understand that this can be a confusing and difficult process. Our expert staff will be on hand to help you with your needs.
We liaise with consular, coroner, high commission, air/shipping line and statutory authorities to complete the necessary steps.
